Sizes are counted per ounce (28.35 g). “22/24” means 22–24 nuts per ounce — the lower the number, the larger the nut.

Values are our standard commercial specification. Tighter tolerances can be agreed for a specific programme and are confirmed in writing before the first shipment. Aflatoxin limits follow the EU maximum levels for nuts intended for direct human consumption.
What it is
Akbari has the greatest length-to-width ratio of any commercial variety and the darkest shell colour. It ripens later than the others, which means more time on the tree, more care through harvest, and a shorter picking window. There is no equivalent cultivar in the Turkish crop.
What it means for your order
Akbari is the most expensive pistachio we carry, and the reasons are structural: lower yield per hectare, later harvest, and steady demand from premium retail. Specify it when the product is positioned at the top of the shelf and the price allows it.
